AWS Backup Recovery Point Objective Icon

AWS Backup Recovery Point Objective (RPO) defines the maximum acceptable data loss in case of a disaster. It specifies the longest period of time that data might be lost before recovery. For example, an RPO of 1 hour means that you could lose up to 1 hour's worth of data during recovery. A lower RPO indicates a higher level of data protection and lower risk of data loss but might require more frequent backups and thus more storage and cost.
