Amazon S3 Replication Time Control (RTC) lets you configure how quickly data is copied to a different AWS Region for redundancy and disaster recovery. You choose a replication time objective (RTO), such as 'same region' or 'cross-region' , which affects the speed and consistency of your backups. This is useful for protecting against data loss from regional outages or other disruptions by automatically keeping a copy of your S3 objects in another location. Faster replication means lower RTO, but potentially higher cost.
